Born in Harlem and raised in Brooklyn, I learned early that life doesn't hand you clarity—you have to fight for it. At 31, I moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent the next 25 years building a career in one of the most demanding leadership environments: fast-paced operations with high turnover, tight margins, diverse teams, and relentless customer expectations.
For over two decades, I've managed shift leads, assistant managers, and frontline staff. I've conducted hundreds of performance evaluations, coached underperforming leaders, resolved team conflicts, and rebuilt broken cultures. I've seen every excuse, every performance gap, every cultural breakdown—and I've developed systems that actually work in the real world, not just on paper.
What Fast Food Management Taught Me About Leadership
